On Tuesday night, I went overnight cycling with the usual group. It was my first time going on this kind of overnight jaunt, and it was quite an eye opening experience, and also a very sore one. Bicycle seats are quite hard.
The picture above is one of my favourites. Didn't bring a tripod so couldn't really get many nice shots. This one was taken with the camera balanced precariously on a bicycle seat and an LED torch was used to illuminate the bicycle in the foreground. We spent quite a lot of time in the city area as we didn't want to go any further after reaching vivo.
At first, we wanted to climb Fort Canning but decided not to as it would have been too tiring, especially for poor kenny who spent the whole time up to lau pa sat in top gear and refused to change down because it was too troublesome. At least he used the gears after that and it wasn't so bad.
We started from ECP, went to suntec, then to zq's house to get a spanner as his seat had come loose. Then on to lau pa sat, vivo, wandered around the city area, stopped at bugis' macs for an hour, then rode back through Geylang. Geylang is really very crowded at night, even at 3am. We saw many taxis and it was quite dangerous cycling down that stretch. After we reached Paya Lebar, it was suddenly so quiet and peaceful.
The original plan was to go Duku Road for prata. It's supposed to be open 24 hours but when we got there, they were cleaning the place, so we went onto another place along Still Road, which didn't have such good prata. After that, we made our way back to ECP and hung around till 9am to return the bikes.
We spent quite a bit of the trip eating. Started at macs, ate at lau pa sat, at bugis, still road and then back to macs for breakfast. Some of them want to do it again next week, but it's quite tiring and turns your life upside down. I went back and slept until 3pm.
PS... At first I used Picasa's BlogThis feature to write this post, but it all disappeared somewhere in cyberspace. Luckily I selected the whole lot and copied it to the clipboard first, or I would have to write this all over again.
